Words by Courtney Cox

It’s day four of our Destination: Italy week and today is all about inspiration! To start, we’ve created a Pinterest board entirely dedicated to this European wonder. If you’re considering hosting your destination wedding or honeymoon in Italy, we’ve got you covered. You’ll find wedding dresses, hairstyles, bouquets, centerpieces and ceremonies on the Destination: Italy board, just to name a few. We’ve also peppered some Italian love into some of our other Pinterest boards like “Don’t Forget the Groom” (tailored Italian suit, anyone?), “Wedding Makeup,” “For the Honeymoon!” and “Light up Your Wedding.”

More Photos

To keep the inspirational ball rolling, Roman local and professional wedding photographer, Rochelle Cheever, is back to share her “10 Most Photogenic Places in Italy.” Aside from growing up in Rome, she has traveled and photographed weddings and elopements all over the country. So, if you’re considering Italy for your destination wedding or honeymoon, be sure to hit-up more than a few of these locations for gorgeous photos you will surely cherish for a lifetime.

10 Most Photogenic Places in Italy

1. Rome (off season)

AKA The Eternal City or Caput Mundi (Center of the World). It’s beauty is unparalleled to any other city in the world. It is a walking city…it is an open museum as you walk through the centuries. Art is everywhere in Rome. Discover Ancient Roman times, to Medieval times, to Renaissance and Baroque.

2. Florence (off season)

Small, quaint and known as the “Cradle of Renaissance.”

3. Polignano a Mare

Located in Puglia, it's nature and white-washed walls with the dark blue adjacent see make it a sight to see.

4. Val d'Orcia

Tuscany is exactly what you’ve envisioned – famous rolling hills dotted with Cypress trees, medieval towns, vineyards and castles. Pienza is another small, hilltop village in Tuscany and is close to Montepulciano (also not to be missed). Pienza is a Renaissance gem with crazy beautiful views. They make very good cheeses, as well, especially Pecorino di Pienza (my favorite).

5. Capri (off season)

The Magical Island of Capri, which dates back to Roman Times and has Roman ruins (Villa Jovis), two harbors, Marina Grande & Marina Piccola.

6. Procida

The smallest Island in the Naples bay and off the tourist list. It’s full of lemon groves and pastel-hued homes.

7. Lecce

Located in Puglia and is known as the “Florence of Puglia.” It is also known for its Baroque Architecture built mostly with the local yellow ochre limestone.

8. Gubbio

A medieval, hilltop village in Central Italy located in the Umbria Region. Gubbio has a Roman amphitheater, which looks a lot like the Colosseum in Rome.

9. Lucca

Found in the Tuscany region and well known for it's Renaissance art and Roman walls that encompass the town. Think cobblestone roads, beautiful piazzas and a duomo.

10. Venice (off season)

Venice is Venice...Founded in the 5th C. It is the most Romantic of all. It is quaint, no cars, just canals, and with over 400 bridges. Think gondolas, small motorboats, amazing works of Renaissance and Byzantine art, and palaces. It gets crowded and is to be avoided during the high season.

Stay tuned tomorrow for our final day of Destination: Italy, which will feature a real-life wedding in Sorrento.
