Having a wedding away from home was an easy decision for Amanda and Ryan. “We knew that a destination wedding was the best answer considering we both had guests coming from multiple areas of the country. Why not have everyone travel for a vacation?”

The two love birds decided to wed on the romantic shores of Tulum, Mexico. “We had visited Tulum almost exactly a year before our wedding and fell in love with the area…we had never been to a place that takes advantage of natural beauty as much as Tulum. From the calmness and serenity of the beach itself, to the magically romantic ambiance, there is no other place like it,” says the couple.

Their guests took care of their own flights and transportation to and from the hotel, which helped prevent confusion and chaos. It also allowed them to stay at the resort as long as they liked. “They were thrilled to be traveling to such a unique and incredible location,” says the couple.

Finding trustworthy venders can be tricky, but these two spent time researching to find the perfect ones. Amanda says, “We constantly looked on social media at different venues and vendors’ websites, along with hashtags. Many of the photos online are done professionally, and we wanted to make sure that the real life experience of the places and vendors we were using were just as remarkable in real life.”

The newlyweds also shared the importance of having a great wedding planner. The bride says, “They truly help with the little details when you can’t be there in person to plan in the months leading up to the big day. Not to mention, if there is a language or payment barrier with the many different vendors, your planner will ensure the transactions are seamless and that you are receiving the service you are paying for.”

The true love the couple has towards each other radiates in their photos. Amanda and Ryan shared, “We couldn’t be happier that we decided to do a destination wedding. We wouldn’t change it for the world.” We asked the couple to share any advice for future destination wedding couples. The bride says, “Do what is best for you! There’s no way to please everyone, but don’t forget that it’s your day.”
