Real Destination Wedding - Carmel, California

Megan and Scott studied at the same college (UC San Diego) but didn't actually meet until they started working at the same pharmaceutical company.

Years of friendship eventually blossomed into romance, and late 2006, the couple was inseparable.
As a traditional, romantic guy will do, Scott got permission from Megan's parents before popping the question. The proposal was equally romantic, and after a long hike on the island of Lana'i, Hawaii, Scott asked Megan to be his wife. Of course she happily said yes!

Wedding plans started immediately and the couple decided on Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, California. Megan had spent time in Carmel as a young girl, and it was also a special place for her and Scott.
To make planning much easier, they hired wedding planner Sanford Marshall, The Wedding Coach, to help them create a wedding day that would accentuate the rustic chic charm of the California location they had selected and be reflective of their personalities. The most important part for the couple was to make sure all their guests would have the best time possible.
Tucked into a redwood forest, the couple made their love official under the soaring trees.

Creating a vibrant palette of orange and teal, offered a sophisticated ambiance, paired with the more rustic elements of wild flowers and wood gave the entire event a old world elegant feel.

Mary Lois of Loop Flowers created the floral designs utilizing the local growers. Many eco-friendly details were recognized including a menu that also incorporated ingredients from the local farmers. The elegant cake was hand-crafted by Edith Meyer of Edith Meyer Wedding Cakes, using organic ingredients and a astute attention to detail. Each layer was ensconced in white chocolate and decorated with fresh in-season berries.
The reception (which was held in a barn) offered a unique experience for guests and the couple alike. Live music played by The LA Allstars ranged from Elton John to Guns N' Roses.

We wish the couple a happy lifetime together and thank them for allowing us to share their story with all of you!
