Damion Hamilton, a Napa Valley native, is a wine country wedding photographer extraordinaire, whose weddings are almost solely destination weddings.
“Destination weddings are so unique because they are a reflection of a couple’s desires and it’s my chance to tell a visual story in pictures of the most important day of their lives." Hamilton said. "It is an opportunity too for brides and grooms to host friends and family and welcome them into to the next chapter in their lives in an unforgettable way.”
In a Q & A with Hamilton, he shares with us his top three tips on how best to choose a destination wedding photographer.
1. Check with the wedding-industry experts in the area for recommendations.
2. Ideally, meet with them in person on one of your trips out to your destination wedding location. If a face-to-face meeting is not an option, then make sure you schedule a phone call to review all the expectations, his (or her) style and to review the contract.
3. Ask for three of their most recent couples that they have worked with that can be used as a reference. This allows you to find out other couple’s experiences working with the photographer and make sure that it’s the right fit for you.
