A Refreshing Real Wedding in Puerto Morelos

It's obvious by looking at Amy and Daylen's wedding day photos that they are a truly special couple. They proved that having a destination wedding doesn't mean you have to compromise. They held their wedding at Azul Sensatori, a 5-star all-inclusive resort. A perk of holding a wedding at an all-inclusive resort is it can be a one-stop-shop. Flowers, linens, food and photography are often available by the resort. However, Amy and Daylen didn't let these conveniences stop them from making their wedding in Puerto Morelos so obviously "theirs."

Amy got a lot of the day's details and accessories at Etsy. Personalized passports replaced the traditional invitation and set the tone for the couple's unique and vintage inspired nuptials. The guests were greeted with a welcome basket that included, among other things, a hangover kit--just in case. This couple knows how to encourage their friends to have a good time. Amy created a keepsake of her own by stitching a message inside her wedding day clutch. The groom and his groomsmen weren't left out of the fun and sported personalized black, Converse sneakers.

The couple exchanged their teary-eyed vows on the resort's sky deck over looking the Gulf of Mexico. The color scheme was muted, but still reflected the beachside locale. The event was a sea of light blue and green hues. White accents at the ceremony site allowed the muted colors to really pop and set a joyous mood.

Amy had one of my favorite gowns I've seen in a while. It stuck with the sexy trend, but still exuded a vintage elegance. The Matthew Christopher wedding dress fit Amy like a glove and the detailed seaming complimented her figure perfectly.

The couple's reception kept with a vintage feel, but incorporated a current and popular theme--birds. The guests enjoyed hand-rolled cigars as they danced the night away. The evening was capped off by the entire bridal party jumping into the pool to cool off after a long night of festivities.

The party didn't stop there. Amy enjoyed a second beautiful gown for a beachside trash the dress session. Sometimes these types of pictures can end up looking just like their name implies--trashy. However, this couple channeled From Here to Eternity and what resulted were romantic and beautiful photos. Hopefully Amy and Daylen's marriage will take inspiration from their movie makeover and last from here, to eternity.
