Carrie and William fell in love with Eagle Castle Winery in Paso Robles, California. So in love, in fact, that they were willing to travel all the way from New Zealand for their one of a kind destination wedding. While many people would consider New Zealand a destination in itself, this couple decided the California sunshine was for them. The winery's castle-like architecture set an unbelievable romantic backdrop for the couple's "I do's."
Carrie selected bright bridal colors to liven up the monochromatic palate of Eagle Castle. In keeping up with the romantic feel, her dress was princess-like with a full skirt and long train. The couple's guests had many a good laugh thanks to the crazy California wind. Carrie was constantly battling for cooperation with her veil and long blonde hair. Floral details added a feminine touch to the masculine exterior of the castle.
William, ever the gentleman, was obviously thrilled to be taking Carrie's hand in marriage. The couple exchanged vows in front of the castle's main entrance. Perhaps they meant to symbolize their opening a new door in life. Surrounded by their loved ones, the couple commited to each other for life and braced themselves against the whipping winds.
Thankfully the wedding party got a reprieve from the unpredictable California weather as they moved inside for the reception. The neautral colored chairs and table linens complimented the venue's interior. Carrie's vibrant and plush flower centerpieces added that dash of romance that marks every wedding. Guests indluged their sweet tooth with custom monogrammed chocolate favors.
It's not often we come across such a classically romantic backdrop like a castle. The venue obviously suited this lovely couple and made their big day one no guest will soon forget. Bravo to them for making the long trip to California in order to make their dream wedding a reality.
