Nicole and Sandro fell in love on a white-sand beach in the Caribbean three years ago. So when it came time to plan their destination wedding, the Caribbean was a shoe-in. Just a short time later Nicole and Sandro found themselves on the beach in Aruba surrounded by 75 of their nearest and dearest.

Bucuti Beach Resort was an integral part of their wedding. The couple got married on the property’s beach, their guests stayed there and Bucuti arranged most of the party’s activities while in Aruba.

Nicole and Sandro say that their wedding never would have turned out as perfectly as it did without the help of the Bucuti Beach Resort staff. They also had the help of a wedding planner, Lyna Calvario from KasalNY. In all, the group pulled of 4 days of amazing activities for the Aruba destination wedding.

The wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome happy hour at the resort’s Sand Bar. Upon checking in, Sandro and Nicole’s guests found beach bags waiting for them with all the essentials needed for a dream beach vacation. The couple had a blast seeing their guests with their bright green towels and umbrellas throughout the weekend.

The night before the wedding the couple treated their guests to a beach BBQ fiesta complete with a party bus, maracas and delicious island food. It was important to Nicole and Sandro that their guests have a truly wonderful time in Aruba because, ultimately for them, their wedding was all about sharing it with those people in their lives that matter the most.

“It’s hard to steal time with friends and family given hectic schedules and the everyday demands of life,” they say. “We were lucky enough to have our guests press the ‘pause’ button for a few days, spend quality time together and celebrate with us.”

By the time wedding day rolled around, the guests were all fast friends and Nicole and Sandro were more ready than ever to say “I do.” Nicole met Sandro under a canopy of dangling white flowers and crystals. Seeing the sunset reflected in the hanging crystals is something Nicole says she will never forget.

Purple and green were the colors of the day, but the couple embraced the colors of the tropics throughout their days of celebration. The bridesmaids wore deep purple dresses by Amsale and carried dramatic, pale green bouquets. As is traditional for beach weddings, the gentlemen kept it casual with JCrew white linen shirts and khaki pants.

The couple got creative when it came to a ceremony finale. Instead of the traditional sand ceremony Nicole and Sandro had their guests take part in a “wishing stone ceremony.” The couple’s guests were all given pebbles and at the end of the ceremony all 75 of them walked to the water’s edge, threw the stones into the ocean and made a wish for Nicole and Sandro’s future.

While Nicole and Sandro’s beach nuptials were breathtaking – the real show stopper was their reception. Aruba's Screaming Eagle Restaurant was completely transformed into a purple lounge perfect for mingling, relaxing and taking in the party. The newlyweds and their guests ate, drank and danced the night away!

The last and final day of the couple’s Aruba wedding adventure involved a farewell brunch. This was a chance for the couple to hear all their guests relate their stories of the night before, share pictures and say goodbye. This wedding was a success from beginning to end and proof that, with enough help, your dream destination wedding can easily become a reality.
