A Traditional Greek Orthodox Wedding in Cabo

Today’s real-life couple proved that a destination wedding abroad can still be a family affair – they had 23 people in their wedding party! Amy and Jimmy said “Si” south of the border in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Their chosen spot for their destination wedding extravaganza was Riu Palace. The all-inclusive resort made wedding planning a cinch, and to say a good time was had by all would be an understatement.

The day before the wedding, Amy and Jimmy’s guests boarded a boat for a rehearsal dinner cruise. It was a great opportunity for the guests to see Cabo from the sea, enjoy great food and each others' company. One of the couple’s top priorities was to ensure their family and friends an amazing time attending their wedding.
In order to allow for the smoothest w-day schedule possible, Amy and Jimmy not only decided to see each other before the wedding, they also did a day after shoot. Seeing each other before the wedding allowed formal pictures to be taken in advance and for the couple to really sit back and enjoy themselves post-ceremony.

Also, because the couple was taking photos the day after the wedding, their photographer was able to really focus on Amy and Jimmy’s family and friends the day of the wedding. This is a good thing because there were a lot of them. The wedding party was made up of 12 groomsmen and 11 bridesmaids. This seems a bit out there, but the couple said they simply couldn’t have gone without any of them.
The couple had a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony and Jimmy’s cousin performed the ceremony. The couple put a bit of a twist on tradition by choosing to get married outdoors, but with that view – who could blame them? The ceremony was an emotional experience not only for the couple, but for their guests.

It’s clear from the photos that Amy and Jimmy successfully pulled off their Cabo destination wedding. The guests were happy, the couple smitten and the setting divine.
