Sarah and John wanted an intimate destination wedding in the heart of summer. The historic mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado fit the bill. The couple exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and lush mountain peaks.
The wedding took place at Crested Butte Retreat, a mountainside boutique hotel which looks down over the town of Crested Butte. Although the hotel is relatively small, it accommodated Sarah, John and their guests. Because Crested Butte is called “the wildflower capital of Colorado,” the pinks and purples of wildflowers set the scene for these nuptials.
Because of the lush background, the couple kept things relatively simple for their wedding and let the Colorado countryside do the talking. W-day was a rainy one, but thankfully the sun came out just long enough for the couple to say “I do.”
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests sat down to a catered meal at Crested Butte Retreat. It was truly as personal as possible because the hotel had a single table big enough to accommodate all the guests.
This destination wedding proves that it’s not always about pomp and circumstance. Sarah and John simply wanted to commit to each other for life surrounded by their closest family and friends. What resulted was an occasion that will be near and dear in the hearts of their guests forever.
