Couples who decide they want a tropical destination wedding have hundreds (if not thousands) of gorgeous locations to choose from worldwide. Aruba is known for being one of the most beautiful and romantic warm weather spots. Thankfully, the island has taken steps toward making a destination wedding there a cinch.

Aruba offers a one of a kind online destination celebrations registry. The Aruba Celebrations Registry makes it easy for a couple’s friends and family to financially contribute to the happy couple’s wedding or honeymoon in place of a more traditional gift. The registry offers multiple ways for your loved ones to contribute money toward your vacation expenses. Options range from hotel stays, sunset sails, candlelit dinners and anything else you can dream up.

To prove their love for the island of Aruba and to their desire for destination weddings, some of the island’s best wedding coordinators are providing helpful tips for planning your wedding away:

The onsite wedding coordinator at Occidental Grand Aruba, Eliana Fun-Arguello, advises couples who plan a wedding in Aruba to “start early and book the day at your desired location well in advance, as certain dates are very busy and are taken quickly.”

Nashette Wouters with Bucuti Beach Resort thinks that the number one top for a destination wedding is to allow yourself extra travel time. “Don’t plan to travel the day before your wedding – give yourselves two or three days of padding and suggest that your wedding guests do the same. Many couples plan some fun events for a few days leading up to the wedding and hold the celebration on the final day. Then, if guests are delayed for whatever reason, they don’t miss the main event.”

At The Westin Resort and Casino, wedding coordinator Inge van Roon advices that, “the Aruba sunset is not to be missed, so a late afternoon wedding is ideal to take advantage of the gorgeous views!”

Beyond destination weddings, there are also several resorts on Aruba which specifically cater to honeymooners. Some properties which over great honeymoon packages are The Westin Resort and Casino, Arbuba, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort and Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort.
