As anyone who regularly checks in on our "Real Wedding Wednesdays" or "Destination Couples Dish" Fridays will attest, we get a lot of Hawaii destination wedding submissions. Hawaii is a popular honeymoon and wedding destination for a reason – it’s stunning! Having been there myself for Destination I Do Magazine, I can vouch for the islands and say they really are as gorgeous as their reputation promises.

Keith and Alison made the smart decision to marry on the Big Island of Hawaii and were kind enough to invite their closest friends and family along. Like I said before, we get a lot of Hawaii destination wedding submissions and this one in particular stood out. A gorgeous couple + a stunning location + bright and vivid flowers = destination wedding eye candy! The couple said “I do” in Kona at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa.

Alison took advantage of the local flora and created a bright pink and orange color palette for her big day. Her wedding colors, contrasted with the natural green foliage and bright blue waves of the ocean, created a setting that neither they, nor their guests, will ever forget. Their ceremony took place on a lanai overlooking the ocean and underneath the shade of an enormous mango tree. A colossal perk of opting for an outdoor ceremony is taking advantage of what nature has provided – like a dramatic overhanging tree – to really frame your wedding ceremony.

Alison and Keith also held their reception at the Sheraton and manta rays poked their heads out of the blue waters to join in on the fun. With a volcano in the distance and a world-famous Hawaiian sunset lighting up the sky, Keith and Alison danced the night away and celebrated being man and wife. This couple did an amazing job of taking advantage of everything their island destination had to offer. No doubt their future together is just as bright as those gorgeous flowers!
