There are a hundred different reasons a couple might choose to have a destination wedding. For Marc and Valeria the choice was simple. The bride’s family is Italian and most of her relatives still reside in the stunning European country. The couple didn’t have to think twice – they were going to start their life together in Italy!
Marc and Valeria chose the Italian town of Bedizzole, which is about half way between Venice and Milan. Because the town isn’t far from Lake Garda (Lago di Garda), it has stunning hillside, water views. Between the happy couple, excited guests, gorgeous scenery and authentic Italian food, this wedding was destined to be a hit.
Unfortunately, the couple’s wedding day began with a rough start. A hail storm swept through the Italian town and it wasn’t until an hour before their ceremony was due to start that the weather finally let up. Marc and Valeria exchanged vows in a breathtaking cathedral with all the drama of ancient Italy. While a bit unassuming on the outside, the interior was awash with color and golden details.
The newlywed’s reception took place at Agriturismo Macesina, a farming village with modern, eco-friendly practices. The village is entirely self-sufficient and the couple’s guests dined on fresh local wine, cheese and Italian food. Because half the wedding’s guests were from Italy and the others had traveled from all over the world – it was important to Marc and Valeria that the food be superb.
The couple’s reception was set up in the property’s cobblestone courtyard. With some of the buildings dating back to the 15th Century, the couple got a romantic and historic backdrop to the end of their big day. With a gorgeous event like this, I know I wouldn’t have to be asked twice to travel to the gorgeousness that is Italy!
