Anyone who is a frequent flier is always looking for ways to make their flight, airport navigation and travel time easier. Wolfram/Alpha is a computational knowledge engine which can be used to gain knowledge about anything from math equations to travel questions. Wolfram recently launched a travel app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Whether you travel on a regular basis or just want to be extra prepared for your upcoming destination wedding or honeymoon, Wolfram Travel Assistant App may be just the thing.

With this travel app at your fingertips you can calculate gas prices for different cities along a road trip, compute distances between locations and even look at area statistics. The app can also provide you with flight information including departure and arrival times, delays and alternatives for missed flights. Not sure which airline to book your wedding flight through? Wolfram Travel Assistant App can compare data between airlines to tell you the average number of flights per day, average people per flight and average on-time arrivals.

If you’re traveling abroad the currency exchange can vary from day to day. With Wolfram’s new travel app you can perform currency conversions so you’re always sure just how far your dollar will stretch. Wolfram Travel Assistant App also lets you learn about the areas in which you’re visiting. Look up tourism facts or statistics on cost of living, U.S. sales tax rates and crime rates by city.

Wolfram has also launched and app which is perfect for couple on their honeymoon or enjoying their destination wedding. The Wolfram Sun Exposure Reference App is a travel accessory designed to keep your skin tan, but not burned. You will most likely be spending a substantial amount of time outside on both your destination wedding and honeymoon. This provides you with personalized results to show you how long you can stay in the sun before you’re likely to burn and even recommend an SPF level.

If you’re interested in either the Wolfram Travel Assistant App or the Wolfram Sun Exposure Reference App, they’re available at the iTunes App store for $4.99 and $0.99, respectively. For more information about these travel apps visit Wolfram/Alpha’s website.
