Destination Wedding Aruba: A Couple's Dream Come TrueWords by Courtney Kellar Words by Courtney Cox

The first trip Jenna and Dennis ever took together was to Aruba. It’s held a special place in their hearts ever since. “Aruba is our favorite place to [travel to] and every time we went there we thought it would be so amazing to get married there and be on vacation with all our closest family and friends,” says Jenna. “So as soon as we got engaged, we decided to go for it and hoped for the best!”
Thankfully, the couple’s loved ones were more than willing to come along for the ride. Some might say they were just as excited as the bride and groom and were counting down the days to the destination wedding. In order to keep the excitement brewing, Jenna sent along custom luggage tags and a brochure about the destination shortly before everyone was set to depart.
Once the couple and their family and friends arrived on the island, the couple hosted a welcome barbeque. The guests were met with “welcome” bags filled with travel necessities and personalized beer koozies. The wedding was a gorgeous, beachfront affair at the Aruba Marriott Resort complete with a dinner under a romantically draped fabric tent. While the day went off without a hitch, it took some serious dedication to get there.
“The hardest part of planning a destination wedding is learning to have patience,” recalls Jenna. “Aruba is on ‘island time’ and they might not answer their emails every hour like we do in New York, but they will get back to you soon and answer all your questions.”
This bride has no doubt she and her husband made the right decision to marry away in Aruba. “Words can’t describe how special it was. You will not regret having a destination wedding; it is truly an amazing experience.”
