There’s been a recent rise in individuals wanting to trace their own heritage. You might have seen TV shows about famous Americans discovering their genealogy and there are countless websites dedicated to helping you track down long-lost relatives. When traveling for your destination wedding or honeymoon, why not take advantage and learn a little bit more about your ancestry?

The Lodge at Doonbeg in County Clare, Ireland, offers a service to help guests trace their Irish heritage. The idea was brought about after several guests expressed interest in learning more about their ancestry. On site genealogists are available at Doonbeg to research guests’ Irish ancestry and even coordinate visits to villages where ancestors once lived. Who knows, maybe you’ll even meet a long-lost relative or two!

It’s not uncommon for people of Irish decent to return to the Emerald Isle in search of answers. If you or your new spouse are one such individual, consider The Lodge at Doonbeg and get help along the way. The Lodge is a five-star luxury hotel which features a Greg Norman-designed links course and some of the prettiest views you’ll ever see.
