At Destination I Do, we feature multiple weddings a week on our blog. Every once in a while, though, one wedding comes along which really takes our breath away. Arvin and Lisa’s Bali destination wedding is one such example. Combine a gorgeous couple with great taste and an exotic destination: perfection.

The couple originally hails from Indonesia and that’s where the majority of their friends and family still live. Thus, a wedding in Bali would give them the dream wedding they were after while keeping it relatively convenient for all their guests. While they catered to their guests on location, they didn’t go with the flow when it came to the type of wedding they held.

“We both come from families back in Indonesia where the tradition is to hold large weddings (often more than 500 people) in your home town. We, on the other hand, really wanted an intimate wedding where we could look our guests in the eye and reminisce about our past.”

The stunning views of Bali and the lush surroundings alone would have been enough to make this wedding one-of-a-kind, but Arvin and Lisa added chic décor into the mix to really take this event over the top. The couple admits they never could have pulled off the destination wedding of their dreams without a wonderful wedding coordinator. “Because we both work and are living in the U.S., planning for a destination wedding would have been another full time job – but in a different time zone,” says Lisa.

While their beautiful wedding wasn’t without work, Lisa and Arvin wouldn’t change a thing. Thinking of what they would have had if they would have gone the traditional route, there’s no question they made the right decisions. “The entire experience would have been totally different – think 500+ people, a large ballroom with a stage for the wedding party, buffet stations and a long queue of guests walking up to the stage to congratulate us,” says Lisa. “We wouldn’t have wanted [our wedding] any other way.”
