Clay and Martha always wanted a beachside wedding, but their Midwestern hometown was not only lacking a beach, but also had unpredictable weather. Thus this Indianapolis couple went to the sunny shores of southern California for their dream destination wedding. Their friends and family were supportive of the decision, but we were a little worried about travel costs.
To try and offset some of the inconvenience to their guests, Clay and Martha had both gift baskets and favors for their friends and family when they arrived in Dana Point, California. The couple easily settled on the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort for their venue because of the gorgeous views and “top-notch” service.
By being able to handpick their venue, Clay and Martha were able to have the lavish affair they wanted. Also, because their guest list was so much smaller, they didn’t spend as much money as they might have in their hometown. It’s easy to see from the couple’s W-day photos that they successfully pulled off their dream destination wedding.
Martha has some last words of advice for other couples considering taking the jump and going for the wedding of their dreams, “Don’t obsess over the details, because when the big day comes, you will not notice any of those things. All that matters is that you and your new husband/wife sealed your commitment to each other and are having a blast with your closest friends and family!”
