Destination Wedding North Carolina: An Asheville OasisWords by Courtney Kellar Words by Courtney Cox

Lindsay and Craig never doubted a destination wedding would be the route for them and their nuptials. With friends and family spread all over the country, the couple could choose pretty much anywhere they wanted to say “I do.” Lindsay and Craig eventually selected Asheville, NC, for its picturesque mountain setting and convenience for the bride’s family.
The bride executed a clear vision for what her and Craig’s dream wedding would be. With the help of reliable, and thoroughly researched, vendors and her mother-in-law, this couple’s dream destination wedding came to fruition. The bride and her mother-in-law had several DIY projects which really helped to add pizazz to the event like antique doors with hanging keys for seating assignments and a sewing machine with quilt squares for guests to sign.
Because the couple had guests traveling from all over the country, they chose to hold their wedding over a holiday weekend – Labor Day. This gave the couple the opportunity to host several events for their guests including a rehearsal dinner for the whole crowd and a farewell breakfast the morning after the wedding. “It was great to have a chance to actually hold a conversation with everyone who came in town for us,” recalls Lindsay. “We were able to really relax and enjoy our wedding night without feeling the pressure to make sure we said hello to everyone since we had seen our guests the night before at the rehearsal and would be seeing them again in the morning.”
Ironically, the couple’s final words of advice are to…get advice! “Ask for advice from those who have done it before,” says the couple. “We each have an older sister who was married within a couple of years before our wedding. Our families were a huge help!”
