Kristin and David originally hail from Chicago, Illinois. So when it came to planning their destination wedding the couple thought it fitting to switch things up a bit, they planned on maxing out their guest list at 100 family and friends. Kristin spent the last twelve winters in Florida with her parents, and David, having seen how much she enjoyed herself, proposed they have the ceremony in Palm Beach Island.
Guests were thrilled to be able to pack up and go on a mini-vacation to watch their loved ones tie the knot. After visiting a few venues, the couple finally came across a place they fully connected with, the Brazilian Court. "We both loved the intimacy that the Brazilian Court offered for our wedding weekend," says Kristin. "It was the perfect size where we knew our guests would not get lost in the shuffle. We would be the only wedding happening and all the events could take place in one location."
The couple wanted a wedding which would create wonderful memories for everyone present. A destination wedding was the perfect way to spice things up all while giving their guests a short vacation. The venue was only a short distance from the airport and transporting guests back and forth was easy breezy. Kristin says booking a wedding planner is a huge life-saver, and to utilize them in every way possible.
When it comes down to dealing with vendors, she says you must trust who you're conducting wedding business with, or else stress is sure to be knocking on your door. "There are a lot of things that go into planning a wedding, but decide up front what you don't want to compromise on (band, food, venue, flowers, etc.) and focus on those things instead of trying to make everything perfect," she says. "Remember, if you are doing a destination wedding or using a venue that hosts weddings, they do this all the time, trust! There are going to be a lot of things out of your control but try and have fun and enjoy every minute!"
