Brett and Erica hail from Missouri, but knew they wanted to turn their wedding into the family vacation of a lifetime. Their only reservation was that some family wouldn’t be able to attend, but Erica was comforted by the fact that her sister had just held a large hometown wedding less than a year before. The couple’s aim was to have a “fun, laidback celebration with our closest friends and family…an excuse for all our favorite people to go on a vacation together,” says the bride.

With the help of a local travel agency (Great Escape Travelin Kansas City, MO), the couple quickly narrowed down their dream destination to Riviera Maya, Mexico. Brett and Erica knew they would get a week’s worth of beachside fun with their guests and a gorgeous backdrop for their wedding pictures. There were three things which were especially important to the couple in choosing a venue: good food, good drinks and comfy beds! Eventually the two selected El Dorado Maroma Resort with the help of their travel agent.

This bride and groom know they did the right thing in hiring a travel agency because one person handled all the room and flight reservations for their guests. Erica and Brett relied on the resort to provide virtually all the details for their big day and the couple was pleased with how everything turned out and how reasonably priced their entire experience was.

In the end, the couple got exactly what they wished for as they said “I do” in front of 50 of their loved ones. The bride has some final expertise for other couples planning/considering a destination wedding. “My best advice for planning your wedding is to decide on a theme and overall mood you would like to share with your closest family and friends. After that, book an incredible photographer! We were so blessed to have found Jean Smith Photography, they absolutely MADE our wedding!”
