Leyna and Shane are a happy-go-lucky couple who had an equally joyous and laidback destination wedding. Their location of choice was Port Hope, Michigan and these newlyweds said “I do” in the shadow of Point AuxBarques Lighthouse. Guests joined in on the fun last June as spring slowly turned to summer.

This wedding is a lovely home-spun affair. Virtually all the details from start to finish were a product of the bride, her family or her friends. Rustic touches like homemade cookies and paper pin wheels and airplanes made Leyna and Shane’s destination wedding a unique and welcoming event. The couple took advantage of their beautiful backdrop post-nuptials and took portraits all over Port Hope.

Guests sat down to dinner under a white tent decorated with beautiful flowers in rusted tins, flowers made with the colors or spring and dozens of paper pinwheels. The bride danced the night away in her beautiful strapless, lace mermaid gown. Her bridesmaids’ striped, short dresses matched the overall theme perfectly and also blended into the outdoor setting.

The thing this couple’s photographer remembers most about their big day was how humble the couple was – going out of their way to help others and ensure everyone was having a good time. It’s not surprising that old-timey courtesy was this couple’s aim given their wedding décor. Thanks for sharing your day Leyna and Shane!
