Destination Wedding AustriaWords by Courtney Kellar

Brittney, our bride, hails from Arkansas and Mac, our groom, grew up in Louisiana. So where did these star-crossed Southerners meet? In Innsbruck, Austria, of course! The two met there while studying abroad and knew it was the perfect place for their fairytale wedding. The now Denver, CO natives knew it was going to be a big trek for their family and friends so they planned a whopping one-and-a-half years in advance to ensure everyone would be able to make it.
Since their guests were traveling so far and many for at least a week, the couple went to great lengths to ensure everyone had an “unforgettable, intimate experience.” Thus each guests was gifted with a welcome bag which included an Innsbruck Card which allowed access to all the major tourist attractions in and around town. As if the gorgeous Austrian setting wasn’t enough, Brittney and Mac also added several personalized details to their W-day.
While the couple is quick to admit that planning a destination wedding was no easy fete, they wouldn’t have done it any differently. “Planning a wedding from so far away, I wasn’t exactly sure how everything would turn out or if it would be at all like I was expecting,” recalls the bride. “I just decided to enjoy every moment and remember what really mattered to us: that everyone we love and care about was there to celebrate our marriage and were able to share in this experience with us. Everything turned out better than I could have imagined!”
