Atlanta, Georgia is a lively city that is rich in history, making it an extremely popular destination. But for the bride, Atlanta holds a more personal history, one filled with family and childhood memories. Daniella and Ross, who live in New Orleans, traveled there to exchange their vows in an incredibly special place – the beautiful estate of the bride’s aunt, which offered a sense of nostalgia among the stunning greenery that envelops the property.

The couple initially planned their special day to include 200 guests. However, when COVID-19 hit, they decided to have an intimate civil ceremony elopement surrounded by those closest to them.

“My aunt’s backyard is so beautiful and magical. Since we could not have our big wedding, we wanted the wedding to be intimate and romantic, and the space offered just that,” the bride says.

Daniella and Ross had been planning their special day for years, and they were intent on making the decor as meaningful as the venue. They decided to gather family heirlooms and sentimental vintage pieces to decorate the yard.

“Our inspiration was our aesthetic. Our house is full of vintage and antique decor. We love Art Nouveau, and found a way to incorporate it into our day,” the couple says.

They also set out to find other vintage items that complimented the uniqueness and significance of the personal pieces. The event planners at Team Bride unearthed beautiful vintage coupe champagne glasses and brass vases to adorn the tables.

There was a special meaning behind the ceremony chairs, which belonged to different homes and family members. This served as a reminder of how beauty can be found within differences, a message that was especially important to the couple, as they both come from different backgrounds.

Team Bride also added a frame with a silver feather as a reminder of the bride’s grandmother and the groom’s grandfather who had both recently passed away. The frame read “whenever one sees a feather it means that someone that passed is with you.”

“We both lost a grandparent before our day. I loved that we were able to incorporate them with the ‘feather,’” the bride says.

Daniella wore her grandmother’s jewelry as well, to keep her close during this special moment. The exquisite fine china and sterling silverware on the tables also belonged to her grandmother. For Daniella, one of the most significant pictures captured by Flourish Photography is one where she blows her grandfather a kiss as she exits the ceremony.

Since her bridesmaids could not be there (besides the maid-of-honor), Daniella ordered champagne to be delivered to each one of them so that they could share a meaningful moment as she was getting ready.

“COVID changed so much during our day, and I couldn’t have most of my bridal party with me, which was hard because they are my high school best friends. So being able to FaceTime with them was so special,” the bride says.

Danielle and Ross danced among the vintage pieces and sprightly trees to “La Vie en Rose,” played by a violinist. All of the couple’s loved ones were there when they said “I do,” even those that physically couldn’t be.

Having had such a wonderful day, the bride has a word of advice to share. “Follow your heart. It’s your day so do what makes you happy. And, it really does go by so fast, so enjoy every moment.”
