Ideal Gift Ideas for Your Destination Wedding

We love a good gift guide, but oftentimes we find they are random, cheesy, overly expensive, or just a bit too ordinary. Destination weddings demand something a little extra for your guests and wedding party. Think about it. They are spending hard-earned money and getting time off work to attend your event. The least you can do is send them home with something they actually want.

Here are ideas to spoil your guests, gals and groomsmen:

1. For the Sentimental

Dear Ava approached us with their jewelry gift boxes. Many times if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. What’s different about these? You can REALLY personalize them without spending a fortune. Select a birthdate to get a personalized zodiac sign necklace, or choose from personalized boxes with dainty necklace perfect for a family member (sister, aunt, mom and even “unbiological sister”) or best friend. The jewelry starts at $49, so your investment isn’t going to break the bank and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

2. For the Hair Fanatic

When it comes to hair, I always go for the path of least resistance. If something isn’t easy to use the first time, I’m out. So when Bombay Hair sent their Hair Waver for us to try, I had my doubts. After the very first use, I was hooked. My long hair looked like I had added extensions and the waves were the perfect look. Someone even asked me if I had naturally wavy hair the second time I used it. The company included a video tutorial on their site for how to use it, but it’s fairly intuitive. Just start at the top of your hair and work your way down for perfect, beachy waves. The temperature setting is also helpful to know how hot you should set the wand. It feels like a professional tool and acts like one too. $100

3. For the Sleepy Head

You spend one-third of your life in bed, why wouldn’t you want to sleep with the best? Many of the newer fabrics, although soft, can trap heat in which will disturb your sleep. We were sent the Sijo Eucalyptus Bedding Collection to try and wow, it was one of the best we’ve experienced. The biodegradable, eco-friendly, high-performance bedding is not only comfortable and even cooling, but it’s also beautiful. The duvet cover in white looked heavenly, and just a hit of sheen gave it a luxurious appearance. Apparently, there are antimicrobial properties to the fabric, which is a definite plus. I will be ordering the entire line up…from sheets to pillowcases and maybe even their loungewear. Prices start at $60.

4. For the Eternal Beach Bum

Beach towels come in all shapes and sizes. From circular to plush and Turkish to fast-drying, you can find just about anything under the sun – pun intended. Teema Towels sent us one of their traditional beach towels to try and we found out they were more than just a towel. The design was super fun and trendy and because of its light-weight design, it could really be used past the pool. Throw it on in the fall as a blanket scarf or on the ground for a picnic blanket. In or out of the pool the durable, Turkish textile is soft and adds a bit of a designer’s touch to anything it’s thrown on. Prices start at $32.

5. For the World Traveler

Having to add pages to one’s passport (save for 2020), we are pretty opinionated when it comes to luggage. We’ve tried it all – packing cubes, rolling our clothes, hard-sided luggage, soft-sided bags, totes, you name it. But the ROAM suitcase might be the best of all the products we’ve tried so far. The best part about this roomy piece of luggage is that it is fully customizable. And I mean you choose every color on the suitcase. The panels, the handles, the stitching and even the wheels come in different colors. Want a monogram? That’s included. There are literally over a million possible color combos. This is the ideal gift for a honeymoon and with durability, a set of luggage from ROAM will last you well into your marriage. The Jaunt was the size sample we received and customized and is perfect for a 2-4 day getaway. The size is carry-on standard and even though this product is hard-sided, there is enough flex to really pack it in. The weight of the case is super light, the wheels glide as if on ice and the look of it had people stopping us at the front desk more than once. Luggage starts at $495 but with a 100-day risk-free trial of a custom product made in the U.S., you’d be foolish not to give this one a try.
