Often, what compels couples to have a destination wedding in the first place is the appeal of having a smaller guest list by nature. But, when it comes to choosing where to tie the knot – the guidelines are especially unique to who the couple is and what they prioritize in life.

To the bride, Breana, it was ever important to say “I do” to her beloved groom, Antonio, in a location that provided a little taste of home while not compromising on the destination experience.

“We chose Mexico because I am half Mexican and thought it would be great to tie our wedding back to my roots,” the bride says. “We chose Cabo as it was a nice mix of desert and beach. I am from Arizona and Cabo had just the right amount of cacti to make it feel like home.”

Breana and Antonio got to work researching just about everything there was to research on hosting a Cabo wedding. Their first step – find a planner in budget who could take ideas and run with them.

“A wedding planner, we 100,000% recommended! We also researched/crept through the great works of social media on other couples who had destination weddings in Cabo to see the outcome of it all,” the couples says.

Ultimately, Breana and Antonio found Vivid Occasions and allowed their team of professionals to carry out the bulk of planning – helping them find the perfect vendors.

“We researched every vendor they provided to us so we can select the BEST one that fit our needs,” says the bride.

The couple left the travel logistics up to their guests while also creating a room block with a special booking code to let the hotel know they were a part of the wedding celebration. However, the stressful part of the room blocking process is that the couple has to take a good guess on how many people would attend before they even purchased their flights.

“This gave me so much anxiety as some guests would confirm they would be attending the wedding but then they’d decline last minute,” Breana says. “Thankfully the hotel worked with us and we didn’t incur any charges for changes to the number of guests.”

Thankfully, a trip out to Cabo beforehand to select the flowers, table settings, food and cake calmed some of the couple’s nerves, allowing them to feel secure in their decisions.

Once everything came to a head and it was time for Breana and Antonio to start their forever together, nothing could stop the couple’s (and their guests’) care-free vibes!

“We loved everything about our wedding from the planning stages to the beautiful pictures we get to look back on,” the couple says.
