Destination Wedding North Carolina

When people think of a destination wedding, it’s not uncommon for them to think of a wedding on the other side of the World. But this isn’t always the case. A destination can be in the same country; it can be in the same state, it can even be a simple four-hour drive away! This four-hour distance made all the difference for the wedding of Stephanie and Michael in Nag’s Head, North Carolina.

It was important to the couple that they break away from the average beach wedding that are so popular where they live, and give their guests the opportunity to have a completely unique experience.

Nags Head was a reasonable distance away and held particular memories in the couple’s hearts as Michael had proposed to Stephanie there. “We chose Nag’s Head because it is such a special place to us, we are both beach babies and we feel at home there.”

Except for booking a block of rooms at a hotel near the ceremony site, the couple left travel and accommodation arrangements for the most part up to their guests. Some guests coming from far away were eager to make a vacation out of Michael and Stephanie’s wedding.

While organizing a wedding without the aid of a wedding planner may seem like a daunting task to some, Stephanie had no problem stepping up to the challenge. The couple kept their vendors local, making it easier for them to meet with all of their suppliers over one weekend, face to face, before the wedding. Except for meeting the one time, the couple kept in contact with their vendors via email and phone.

The couple was thrilled to have been able to have a wedding which was unique and special. Their big day could not have been better.

As for advice, Stephanie encourages other destination brides to relax.

“What’s the point of stressing over something as small as a napkin color that no one will remember?” the bride said. “I knew what I wanted but I was open to ideas and help. Just remember that it’s a special day and there’s no need to get stressed out or upset.”
