When Nicole and Dave got engaged they knew one thing for sure; that they would be saying their “I do’s” on the shores of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. “Dave and I chose Lake Tahoe because it’s a very special place for us,” the bride said. “We go there at least once each year and it will be somewhere we take our own kids on vacations. We wanted to share that with other family and friends who have never been.”
The couple was eager for their guests to enjoy a mini-vacation in Lake Tahoe so they could appreciate all of the location’s natural beauty. Nicole and Dave wanted to be sure their guests enjoyed their destination wedding in Nevada so they planned several group events before the wedding, such as a day at the beach and a BBQ.
Guests arrived either by driving to Lake Tahoe or by flying into the airport in Reno and driving to the venue from there. The couple provided guests with a variety of options for accommodations in several price ranges to suit each guests’ financial needs.
Thanks to the couple’s familiarity with the location, planning was relatively straightforward, although there were a few of the usual wedding complications along the way. “It was sometimes stressful because we needed to work with vendors and our planner over the phone a lot more, rather than in person, but in the end, that isn’t such a big deal,” the couple said. “We just tried to be as clear and direct as possible in our conversations with vendors and made sure we were available to quickly address any questions or issues.”
Having a wedding planner in Lake Tahoe helped ease the couple’s stress, allowing Dave and Nicole to let go of the reins a bit and to simply enjoy the process. Although the couple would have liked to have met with their wedding planner in person, they made good use of technology and communicated via Skype and e-mail. The couple felt it was necessary to meet in person with their florist to go over design ideas.
Regardless of whether it was necessary to meet in person or not, the floral arrangements of this wedding were spectacular. Dave and Nicole could not have been happier with the way their wedding day panned out.
“The way my husband looked at me as I walked down the aisle melted any stress, nerves and memories of seemingly mini disasters away,” Nicole said. “It’s a look I will cherish forever and I encourage other brides to find those small moments on their day as they will be the things you treasure when you look back on your wedding.”Vendors: Photographer: Lovato Images, Wedding Planner: Summit Soiree, Ceremony/Reception Site: Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino, Bride’s Gown: St. Patrick Barcelona, Groom’s Clothing Designer: Michael Kors, Florist: Stems by Diana, Bridesmaids/Groomsmen’s Clothing Designer: Lula Kate/Michael Kors, Hair: Kolor by Kori, Makeup: Corey Riley at Clearwater Day Spa
