A memorable weekend getaway in Tofino, Canada, where Rebecca and Nick fell in love with the scenery and surfing, made this locale the obvious choice for the couple’s destination wedding. With family all over Canada and the United States, the couple knew from the start there would be travel involved no matter where they decided to say "I Do". “We thought that by having a destination wedding in a fun and beautiful setting, we could make it well worth our guests' time and expenses,” says the couple.
Planning the destination wedding was positively stress-free. The venue the couple chose, Middle Beach Lodge, offered all-inclusive wedding packages and the staff assisted with every step of the process. The couple minimized decorative details to ensure the focus would be on the stunning scenery.
Although little décor was used to enhance the natural beauty, some DIY elements were included. “Nick’s mum made our beautiful place cards, which put to shame my own hand made signs and itineraries,” admits the bride. Rebecca’s friend also contributed a beautiful, hand-crafted, “Just Married” banner, which was a fabulous touch at the reception.
The generous couple treated all guests to their accommodations and meals throughout their entire wedding weekend. Rebecca and Nick were able to add another unforgettable weekend in Tofino to the books, surrounded by their friends and family. “Had we hosted the wedding at home, it would have been way less fun!” exclaims Rebecca.
