A Dream Come True In Germany

Alexandra and Janosch always dreamed of an outdoor wedding. However, there was no location in their hometown of Hamburg, Germany where this was possible so the couple decided a destination wedding was in order. After accidentally stumbling on Herrenhaus Gut Bliestorf, the couple immediately fell in love with the venue. They instantly knew this was exactly what they were looking for to host their fairytale wedding.

Because the venue was relatively close to their home, Alexandra and Janosh were able to make two visits to ensure all wedding affairs were in order. This was a huge help but certain logistics like dining room set up and table arrangements were still somewhat difficult to plan from afar. “Make sure to go to the destination at least once if you can before booking because sometimes things look a lot different in pictures than they do live. We experienced that with some other locations we had been looking at before,” cautions Alexandra. The staff at the venue also helped the couple find hotels in the area and negotiate special deals so the guests could all afford to stay overnight.
The couple put a sweet touch on the event by setting up a candy bar. Alexandra definitely recommends to other couples interested in this creative confection to rent the jars and glasses as opposed to buying them. This alternative was much cheaper and logical. Janosch and Alexandra aso made each of the give-away presents for their guests.
Most of the couple’s vendors came from their hometown and brought everything to the destination. Although the wedding may have been cheaper by hosting it at a venue in their hometown, the couple confidently assures they would not have had it any other way. The location was simply too beautiful to sacrifice for a less expensive event. “We definitely wouldn’t have had the chance to have the ceremony outside had it been at home, which would have been okay I’m sure. It just wouldn’t have been quite what we dreamed of so we are glad we did it!” exclaims the bride.
