This San Francisco couple knew without a doubt they wanted their relaxed wedding to be on the beautiful beach of Mexico. “We love the beach and the laid-back feel in Tulum, it really all come together with out any hesitation,” says the groom.
“I (Justin) am from Louisiana and Lynn is from Northern California,” says the groom. “We loved the idea of having a wedding somewhere in the ‘middle’ of both states on the beach.”
“After a lunch discussing the potential for having the wedding in Mexico, we booked tickets and…flew down to Tulum,” says Justin. “Once we arrived, there were no other choices to make. We were sold and it all started formulating.”
But sometimes wedding plans take a turn and if you’re willing, it can be a really positive outcome. “Our original venue was impossible to secure,” says Justin. “We waited for months to sign a contract and went through the hotel staff turning over constantly. Finally, we were nearing our chosen date, so we pulled the plug and moved down the beach, over to Cabanas La Luna.” After the slight change everything else was smooth sailing.
“We had a wedding planner, which helped endlessly, especially for local resources,” says the groom. “Ashley was able to tie it all together for us and make it an unforgettable experience.”
The couple loved incorporating their family into their special day. “We ended up renting the whole property for our wedding, so all of our guests got to stay right on site. It was amazing. We had all our families and friends with us the whole time. Leading up to the wedding it made it more relaxed and let us swim in our excitement.”
“We did go deep-sea fishing the day before the wedding, since we are all in the food industry, it was a great experience to catch fish and cook them up for everyone for the rehearsal dinner.”
A destination wedding was the perfect choice for this relaxed and laid-back couple. “We feel like we spent less in Mexico than we would have in San Francisco,” says Justin. “However, we were really flexible and had a casual wedding.”
This couple felt the sand between their toes and the love in the salty air during their beautiful vows along the coastline of Mexico. It will be a wonderful memory with family they won’t soon forget. “I don’t know if there will ever be a time in our lives when we get to have that experience again,” says the groom.
- Spend your time focusing on what matters, cover your bases, but don’t worry too much about the small stuff.
- Have a backup plan in case of bad weather.
- Be flexible, sometimes things change and you have to be able to pivot with those changes.
