For this adventurous couple, Cabo San Lucas was the perfect place. “We loved the idea of a wedding near the beach, somewhere warm and exotic,” says the bride.
“Two days prior [to the wedding], we set up ‘guys day’ and ‘girls day,’” recalls Brooke. During the day the groom and his friends had a pool party and skimmed the ocean waves on jet skis, then ended the night with a cigar roller and drinks. Meanwhile, the bride and her friends spent the day on the beach, (including snorkeling, paddle boarding, and whale watching) and concluded the wonderful day with a beautiful candlelit dinner.
But the fun-filled days didn’t stop there. “We set up a beach bonfire for the evening prior to our wedding. After the rehearsal dinner, we had the entire guest list join us for a mariachi band and roast s’mores on the beach,” says the bride. “It was fun to have everyone staying at the same resort and spending more than just the wedding day together.”
Memories were made as the bride carried her meaningful bouquet down the chapel’s isle. “Rather than the traditional bouquet, I carried a custom brooch bouquet, handmade with over 60 brooches,” says the bride. “Each brooch was gifted to me from my family and friends at my bridal shower and were included in the bouquet I carried on my wedding day, a keepsake I will have forever.”
“One of our favorite details for our destination wedding was the invitation suite,” says Brooke. “That was the first thing our guests received so we wanted to set the mood of traveling, the beach and fun! We custom-designed boarding pass magnets as save-the-dates and followed them with a formal invitation that was designed to look like a passport, including all of the hotel information, travel tips and weekend activities. The RSVP card resembled a luggage tag.”
This couple’s destination wedding was everything they had imagined and more. “With a few prayers and crossed fingers, the wedding weekend came together perfectly...” says the bride. “It was a weekend of celebration with our closest friends and family.”
Bride’s Advice: Make sure you give yourself and your guests enough time to plan for the trip. The more information you are able to provide, the easier it will be for your guests to book their trip and reply “yes” on the RSVP. Make sure you give yourself enough time to pick the perfect vendors and make all your travel and activity plans.
