A Sweet Cabo Wedding

While choosing a destination wedding can be a tough decision, some couples know exactly what they want from the moment he or she says “yes.” This was the case with New York couple Kenya and Byron. After winning a trip to Cabo and a stay at the Pueblo Bonita Pacifica, they fell in love and never looked back. Coincidentally, they met their future wedding planner, Gaby Ruiz of Style Weddings, while on the trip and she introduced them to their venue, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa. The rest, as they say, is history.

“As soon as we got engaged we couldn’t imagine having our wedding any other way but as a destination wedding,” says the couple. “We wanted to spend days with our closest family and friends and make it into a long week of events and parties.”

Being from New York, the couple estimates a hometown wedding would have cost them three times more than their Mexican fiesta and it would have been a lot less fun too! “We wouldn’t have spent five wonderful days with the people that we love the most at a beautiful beachfront location,” says Kenya. “We wouldn’t have taken a catamaran cruise the day after the wedding, we wouldn’t have experienced such great joy with our guests. Seeing how happy and pleased they were with the location made it so much more special.”

In the end, Kenya and Byron pulled off a soft, romantic destination wedding on the beach – just like they always dreamed of. Special DIY details like welcome bags and stationery pieces didn’t go unnoticed by the guests and, overall, the couple describes the process as easy since they put faith in their wedding planners. The couple has some other words of advice for couples planning their own destination wedding.

“Do what YOU want for your wedding. Do not let anyone make you feel that you shouldn’t have a wedding away from home. Once you get past all that, make sure to negotiate, negotiate, negotiate everything with your vendors. You don’t always have to take their first price. Also, sit back and relax! [There’s] no need to stress out about how the wedding will turn out. Your wedding planners know what they are going and we were 100% happy with how our wedding turned out and have absolutely no regrets. Best decision ever!”
