Danielle and Travis knew they wanted a “small and intimate” wedding, so a destination wedding only made sense. When it came to picking a destination, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was an easy decision. It was also a wise and beautiful choice. The couple’s nuptials were a classic cream and pink confection.
Come W-Day, the couple was surrounded by their nearest and dearest. “They loved the idea of going on vacation together,” says the bride. Having their guests on board with their decision to wed away was an added bonus for Danielle and Travis.
As for their venue, the couple found it in a pretty traditional way. “We found the resort in an airline magazine as [having received a] traveler’s choice award for 2013.” Based on the photos, it looks like the Grand Solmar Land’s End lived up to its reputation.
Danielle and Travis planned ahead when it came to executing their vision for the wedding day. “I sent all the table settings and décor from home,” says the bride. “We placed photos of our grandparents’ wedding pictures framed at each table.”
With nearly all their guests coming from Ohio, the travel for everyone went relatively smoothly and everyone arrived in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico ready for some quality time and relaxation. There was just one small hiccup: “I forgot my veil…I just went without it,” says Danielle.
The couple credits the hotel with being wonderful in handling the majority of the wedding details and overall calls the planning experience very “special.” They have no doubts about their decision to marry away and know a hometown wedding would have been far less intimate and “not nearly as special.”
When it comes to advice for other couples planning a destination wedding, Danielle’s advice is simple: “Don’t stress…enjoy!” Thanks to the couple for sharing this beautiful, classic wedding with us!
