Dustin and Adrienne wanted an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime wedding and iconic Ireland was just the place! “The country of Ireland was a destination both of us dreamed of visiting,” says the bride. “The beautiful scenery, historic landscape and fun atmosphere seemed ideal for our wedding celebration.”
The couple chose Dromoland Castle in County Clare for their fairytale setting and never looked back. “The legal requirements for getting married in Ireland demand you file a minimum of three months prior to your wedding date and to visit the registrar several days before the wedding date. This wouldn’t work for our situation, so we obtained the legal documents in the U.S. prior to our trip.” Dustin and Adrienne were determined to go-with-the-flow and what resulted was their dream wedding.
Making a romantic setting perhaps even more romantic, the couple set their date for December – meaning the castle was draped in rich colors of green and red for the holidays. Dustin and Adrienne exchanged vows in a nearby historic chapel and traveled to and from in the obvious way…a vintage Bentley! The newlyweds took advantage of their chosen backdrop by letting the castle and holiday décor do most of the work. Our favorite detail? The bridesmaids’ unique alternative to bouquets: rustic lanterns decorated with holly and small flowers.
These lovebirds don’t regret their decision to go for their dream destination wedding even for a second. When asked to describe the overall planning process, this is what Adrienne had to say: “AWESOME! With a little patience, research, advanced planning and TRUST, a destination wedding is the way to go. Persistence is a virtue in planning a wedding in Ireland. The culture is more relaxed with regards to communication, but in the end…it all came together.
She has some final words of advice for other couples planning their own dream wedding away. “Make it yours, take the hiccups in stride and don’t forget your camera!”Vendors: Photographer: Motley Mélange & Berg Photography (second shooters), Ceremony/Reception Site: Parish Church of Kilnasoolagh/Dromoland Castle, Wedding Coordinator: Susan Eyles with Dromoland Castle, Florist: Dromoland Castle, Stationery: Jacob Cotton, Cake: Cakes by Elma, Hair & Makeup: Hair by Nuala & Makeup by Susan Fox, Music: Connor McKeon Band, Mens’ Shaves: Calvin Arthur Barbers, Wedding Car: Bentley Wedding Hire, Gown Designer: Sophia Tolli, Groom’s Clothing Designer: Morley’s Formal Hire, Bridesmaids/Groomsmens’ Clothing Designer: Alexia Designs/Morley’s Formal Hire, Videographer: Declan Gleason
