A Miami Luxe Destination Wedding

When a couple gets married at a place as fabulous as the old Versace Mansion, you know they must know a thing or two about style. Nadya and Jesse traveled over 1,200 miles from their New York home to one of their favorite vacation destinations – Miami, Florida. “We love our weekend getaways to Miami, it was the first trip we took together when we started dating, and we knew all of our family and friends would be very excited to see the intricate details of the Versace Mansion. We are also both big foodies so it was important to us to have a caterer like Barton G,” says Nadya.

With 126 loved ones in tow, the couple planned four total events including the wedding, an all day pool party at the W Hotel with rented cabanas, rehearsal dinner at Mercadito Restaurant and an after-party at The Wall Lounge.

The ceremony was filled with personal touches, such as the groom’s lifelong best friend officiating the union and the sharing of love letters the couple had written to one another. “There were not many dry eyes in the audience. We had readings from family members and also had the officiant talk about what our families mean to us and what we had learned from each of them,” recalled Nadya.

After a stunning three-course meal, dancing ensued immediately in the party-like atmosphere of the reception. Nadya felt this was the absolute highlight of the evening for the guests. “During the first song the DJ said to me, ‘Wow, usually you can’t get one person on the dance floor for the first song, it’s only the first set and there isn’t one person not on the dance floor.’ Everyone danced the whole night!”

Although planning a destination wedding for the stylish couple was laborious with the amount of personal touches they included, they focused on what truly matters most – their loved ones. “Planning a wedding is only as hard as you make it, I didn’t stress about table cloths and the little details. It was more about our friends and family being together in an amazing venue with great food, drinks and dancing.”
