Wedding Gifts for the Creative

When it comes time in your destination wedding planning to think about a small, special something for your groom, or packing for your honeymoon – don’t be afraid to get a little creative. And no, I’m not alluding to fun and flirty lingerie (although there’s nothing wrong with that!). Here at Destination I Do, we recently came across Capturing Couture, a company which lets the creative spirit shine through their collection of camera and guitar straps and accessories.

If you’re a budding photographer, or know someone in your life who is, consider a Capturing Couture camera strap as a gift. Another perk is that the straps are packaged in nice gift boxes with trendy tissue paper – allowing you to skip the gift wrapping altogether. We received the Navajo Cream 2” Camera Strap which retails for $49 USD and couldn’t have been more impressed. As an amateur photographer myself, I was happy to upgrade the strap for my Canon DSLR from the one which came with the camera to the Capturing Couture strap.
The straps are well made and sturdy – so there’s no fear your camera will accidently drop or come unattached. The best thing about them, aside from the super-cute designs, is the increased level of comfort. The standard camera strap which came with my Canon didn’t provide much cushion around my neck and became sticky and uncomfortable when shooting in tropical places. The Capturing Couture strap is lined with plush velvet and would be much more comfortable for when you’re trucking through the jungle in Belize on your honeymoon. The one thing which will take some getting used to is the length of the strap. It’s quite a bit longer, which isn’t a bad thing, just something to keep in mind.
If the creative person in your life isn’t into photography, but music, Capturing Couture also offers cool and dependable guitar straps for both men and women. These could make great groom’s or groomsmen’s gifts and there are enough designs that it’s very likely you’ll find one which is reflective of your wedding style. The guitar straps retail for between $59 - $89 USD and feature a strong Nylon webbing base, 20” velvet-lined shoulder padding, custom embossed leather ends and nickel-finish hardware. Each strap is 60” long, but has adjustable features.
While guitar and camera straps are what set Capturing Couture apart, they also offer lots of other stylish accessories like camera bags ($179 - $199 USD), small cases ($25 USD), wristlet straps for point and shoot cameras ($25 USD) and binocular straps ($19 - $49 USD).
