Magical Turks & Caicos "I Do's"

Lorin and Jabin never hesitated when choosing Turks & Caicos as their destination of choice for their destination wedding. What sold the couple was the Grace Bay Beach area and what it had to offer. When it came time to select a venue, the process was relatively straightforward because the couple knew what they wanted. According to the couple, Alexandra Resort is the only resort that offers beachfront dining and so that settled things. The couple knew they wanted their wedding guests to enjoy sand between their toes and the sound of crashing waves throughout the event.

To maximize the beauty of their destination, Lorin and Jabin planned a few pre-wedding events for their guests. The main pre-wedding event was a snorkeling excursion for their wedding party and it didn’t disappoint! Aside from the normal beauties to be seen when snorkeling, the group was also joined by the island’s resident dolphin. Come W-Day, at first it didn’t look like Mother Nature was going to cooperate.

After raining throughout the morning of the wedding day, the couple’s nerves subsided as the sun came out just before their ceremony time. In fact, the rain added to the event’s oveall ambiance due to the several rainbows which made an appearance during the couple’s ceremony. Ironically enough, with three rainbows in the distance, Lorin walked down the aisle to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Talk about a perfect moment!

Another perk of questionable weather earlier in the day was a magnificent sunset. That’s a great thing for couple’s to keep in mind when it comes to rain on your wedding day. A lot of times rain and clouds make for the most beautiful sunsets! “The rain was definitely worth it,” says Jabin. “The rainbows and sunset are details that we will never forget.”

Overall, the couple got the destination wedding of their dreams – even if the day did start off a little cloudy. “The entire wedding weekend was magical,” says Lorin. “You really had to see it to believe it!” Based on the joy clearly evident in all the couple’s pictures, they had a wedding day to be remembered.

When asked about advice for other couples planning a destination wedding, the bride encourages couples to take advantage of their venue’s on-site team. “Don’t be afraid to ask. I asked for everything and they were more than accommodating!”
