Dreamy Wedding in Los CabosWords by Lauren Ertl

“We chose Cabo because it was a dream of mine to go to this destination,” Stacey says. “We also loved the diversity in the landscapes, mountains, beach, cacti, and palm trees. There's something so magical and romantic about Los Cabos.”
Deciding on a destination wedding, the couple knew a well-curated guest list would make it easy to sit back and really enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience. So, the couple arranged for a full week of festivities with their VIPs.
“We hired a wedding planner, Julie Thivierge of Wedding in the Tropics, which was the best decision we made. She helped us with every single detail from the bookings to the flower selection,” the couple says.
To personalize their celebration, Stacey made the invitation suite herself. “I bought a template off of Etsy and I went out to select the perfect paper and envelopes to match our wedding colors,” the bride says.
The ultimate goal for the couple’s wedding week: make it full of unforgettable experiences. Stacey and Scott worked closely with planner Julie to organize a party that’d start from the first day they set foot in Los Cabos and carry end on a private yacht the night after the wedding.
When the wedding week arrived, Stacey and Scott felt confident they’d made the right choice going “destination” as opposed to an at-home event.
“I think we would have had to have more guests that we aren't that close with but live nearby so you feel an obligation to invite them,” the bride explains. “I also think the wedding night goes by so fast, as the bride and groom you don't get to enjoy it as much.”
Instead, Stacey and Scott got the dream wedding they were hoping for and want to pass this helpful advice on to other couples considering destination nuptials:
“I would say spend the extra money on the wedding planner, it will take away so much stress and help you navigate the process,” Stacey says. “My second piece of advice would be to make sure you bring your own photographer to capture the moment exactly how you want it. Those pictures will be your way of reliving that experience and sharing it with people who could not make it.”
