Aemish and Resh first met when they walked down the aisle together. That is, the aisle at a mutual friend’s wedding! After dating and getting engaged, the two began talks of a grand wedding celebration spread over a few days in a picturesque destination.

“Mexico was close enough for all of our friends and family to gather, but far enough away where it was still a fun and exotic location,” the couple says.

While the pandemic forced Aemish and Resh to wait for their main event, they decided to host a separate, intimate wedding bash in Chino Hills, CA for those who could not make the Mexico celebration.

As far as the planning process went, Aemish tells us she heavily relied on her wedding planner, Sandy of Shaadi Destinations, and coordinators from JC Castillo Weddings to make their dreams come to life. Having selected a stellar venue in beautiful Cancun (TRS Coral Hotel), Resh and Aemish felt confident their friends and family would love it as much as they did.

The bride took on the task of curating a vision for the weekend’s details and decor to share with her planner. Can you guess where her inspiration came from?

“So many internet searches,” Resh says, “and definitely looking at Instagram for ideas and inspiration taken from the blogs and magazines that tend to post there.”

What resulted from all that careful planning – a four-day vacation of a lifetime! The festivities kicked off with a pool day featuring various themed cocktails at the swim-up bar. The next day brought the group of nearly 200 people to the beach for all-day fun in the sun (yard games and yoga included). The beach day then went into the night with dancing and ended with fireworks.

The ceremony had a shining white platform to walk down the aisle and it met at the circular archway covered in flowers. Aemish arrived at the aisle in style via a canal boat with his hype crew leaving a trail of yellow and purple smoke. Palms trees, gently flowing water and gorgeous architecture surrounded the couple as they shared their vows.

“I think [my favorite] moment was just after the vows – everyone just erupting into cheers, and then immediately jumping into reception time,” the couple says.

The reception happened in a grand ballroom decked out in pops of pink and gold. A beautiful white couch sat on a platform charmed with fanciful “trees” to frame Resh and Aemish, the guests of honor. A floral chandelier over a pink dance floor, cold fireworks and theatrical lighting all set the tone for a night that will surely live on in everyone’s memories (and on destinationido.com)!
