Los Cabos is often times the destination celebrities retreat to when they need to get away from it all. After visiting this gorgeous Mexican treasure and experiencing the wonders at Marquis Los Cabos Beach Resort & Spa, I completely understood the attraction.

The surrounding terrain is much like what you would find in places like Tucson, Santa Fe or other southwestern states. The difference is, there are gorgeous beaches and crashing waves lining the desert façade.

At Marquis Los Cabos, visitors will find a sophisticated property complete with a captivatingly beautiful view of the Sea of Cortes the moment you enter the dramatic open-air lobby. The views are consistent and the entire hotel is built to maximize this as a focal point.

The property’s tagline is “a resort for all senses” and those words couldn’t be truer. The property offers something for everyone, and we mean everyone. If you are an aspiring artist, a surf enthusiast, an avid golfer, a water “adventurer,” a true romantic at heart, or just a guest wanting to find some fun in the sun with amazing food and amenities, they’ve got something for you.

A week-long stay is barely enough if you plan to enjoy all the resort has to offer along with the town of San Jose. Indulging in the spa is a must and the variety of treatments will keep you coming back for more. Experience a mini-detox a few days before the wedding with one of their signature treatments and their healthy-eating menus. Group yoga classes and lounging areas are available along with salon services for before or after your wedding.

Signature packages for weddings at Marquis Los Cabos, take all the guesswork out of planning. They can include everything down to the transportation to and from the airport, spa treatments and minister. And as for after the wedding, a private pool casita complete with ocean-front views and dining terraces allow for some serious newlywed R&R.

A major stand-out for Marquis Los Cabos are their restaurant experiences. My favorite, the 20-person fine French dining restaurant, Canto del Mar, is an experience unlike any other. For starters, Chef Thierry Dufour hand-crafts each dish using only the freshest ingredients; therefore, there are no printed menus. A reservation here is crucial and if you want to dine outside on the terrace, make sure you call far ahead to get a table. Vista Bellenas is another one of their amazing restaurants offering alfresco dining on the terrace and a fusion of American and Mexican cuisine for breakfast and dinner.

If you plan to venture into town for dinner one night, make sure to head out a little early to take a leisurely walk through San Jose. The cobblestone streets and old-world architecture is picture-worthy while the boutiques are a great place to find a unique souvenir. La Panga is a favorite restaurant among locals and offers a truly romantic ambiance for newlyweds on their honeymoon. It would also be a memorable place for a rehearsal dinner as the open-air dining nestled under a tree canopy adorned in twinkle lights, gives a feeling of another time and place.

It’s no wonder why celebrities come here to enjoy some relaxing fun in the sun. Los Cabos is a vacationer’s paradise and Marquis Los Cabos is a romantic’s dream come true.
