Magical Maui Real Wedding

Jenner and Kayla met in 2014 over Instagram. Jenner lived in Calgary, Canada and Kayla lived in Sydney Australia at that time. With 300 million Instagram users, a 16-hour time difference and 13,162 km between them - Jenner by chance stumbled upon Kayla. Jenner then goes on to accidentally send Kayla a picture of Scout (Jenner’s French Bulldog) sniffing a little frog without any caption. Kayla responded, "Lol Lil frog!?! How random haha.” To which Jenner replied "Haha I know, sorry I meant to send a message with this lol! So whereabouts are you from?"... this being the start of it all.

Jenner and Kayla have always loved simplicity, classic, timeless pieces and settings. When it came to choosing the location for their destination wedding, they took the same approach. The couple wanted a place that paired well with the black-tie kind of event, and Maui fit the bill perfectly. Plus, it was a halfway point for them in Australia and others in Canada.
The couple’s first move after choosing the location was to recruit a stellar wedding planner. When they found Makena Weddings, the nitty-gritty of the planning began.
Communicating their vision for the special day, Makena Weddings were off to the races. “We went with the same theme of elegant and classic,” the two say. “We had floating candles in clear glass cylinders with green vines intertwining, dimly lit candles. White plates, silver cutlery with a black serviette with a wooden personalized name piece for everyone with a delicate flower as a touch. It really was stunning.”
Of course, the island wedding wouldn’t be complete with the most gorgeous flowers to compliment the natural beauty of Maui. The couple went with a single white flower on each of the serviettes, just for a touch. The bouquet and bridesmaids’ flowers had all white roses and calla lilies (to pop against the black-tie event).
A live musician filled the ceremony with melodies and emotion. “I can’t choose one part of the wedding which would be my favorite,” Kayla says. “I loved every single moment. But, one that stands out is seeing each other for the first time, it was truly a special moment I’ll hold on to forever.”
Jenner and Kayla’s magical Maui day, all came together beautifully, and it turned out to be everything the couple imagined and more.
