In February of 2019, Matthew popped the question to Lindsay in one of the couple’s favorite places in the world: Maui, Hawaii. During their engagement trip, they brunched at The Plantation House near Matthew’s absolute favorite place to golf, Kapalua Golf’s Plantation Course. Enjoying the sites, sounds and tastes of the gorgeous oceanside property, the couple fell in love with the idea of coming back a year later to say “I do.”

“We couldn’t imagine a more perfect location for a dream wedding where we could also have a little vacation with all of our family and best friends. We didn’t want a huge wedding, so this allowed us to have a more intimate wedding,” the couple says.

The process of planning the wedding day got off to a great start with the help of The Plantation House’s on-site coordinator. Unfortunately, mid-way through the coordinator left for another job, but the couple had made such a great bond with her that she was willing to see them through the process, working (unpaid) alongside her replacement. The two coordinators were able to help find the perfect vendors to carry out Lindsay and Matthew’s wedding vision.

“We had a lot of phone calls and emails and made one trip to Maui a few months prior to the wedding to meet in person with all our vendors,” Lindsay says. “That was extremely helpful. We really had the dream team.”

Trusting in their amazing team of vendors to handle the wedding details, the couple focused on mapping out travel logistics and activities for the week – sharing every bit of info with guests via their wedding website.

“We spent a fair amount of time researching various options for hotels, cars, restaurants, hikes, etc… We really tried to foresee any possible issue someone might have and give them the tools to avoid having the problem in the first place,” the bride says.

Finally, the wedding week arrived! Colorful blooms by Sunya’s Flowers highlighted the ceremony arch, pineapples lined the aisle, and as waves crashed in the distance, Lindsay and Matthew tied the knot. The thoughtful details of the day perfectly reflected the couple’s style and their love to all the guests, especially Sugarfina Parisian Pineapple favors. These sweet mini pineapple candies from Paris were made with fresh pineapple purée for an all-natural tropical treat.

Lindsay and Matthew’s favorite part of their Maui destination wedding experience (besides actually getting married) was getting to spend time with each of their guests – something they say wouldn’t have happened had they tied the knot at home in Los Angeles.

“This turned out to be far more than our dream wedding.  It was our dream week, and we got to share it with our closest, most intimate circle,” the couple says.
