Palmetto, Georgia Perfection!

At some point in our lives, every girl dreams of falling in love with a man in a band…I think it has something to do with their level of creativity and confidence. For Geri, a New York City transplant, she went to see an Atlanta band and fell in love for real. She and Zach dated long distance until he made the big move to the Big Apple.
When it came time to plan their wedding, the couple decided to go back to their Southern roots and travel to The Inn at Serenbe in Georgia. “We live in New York and are always in the hustle and bustle of things, so we wanted a quiet serene spot which was an escape for all our guests,” says Geri. “We are from Florida and Georgia and with the combination of fantastic Southern food, gorgeous accommodations and beautiful nature setting, our inspirations came to life when we saw Serenbe.”
The couple was joined by a whopping 178 guests as they exchanged vows in a meadow underneath a gorgeous tree. What made this wedding special was the southern setting mixed with a sophisticated and elegant décor. Geri chose a black and white color palette and managed to mix her and her groom’s personalities into the event.
“Our place cards were in old cigar tins with white rose petals,” says Geri. “The cards were tickets since Zach is a musician. We also chose all the music for our cocktail hour, dinner and reception: 1950’s music and indie rock. Our perfect mix.”
For us, the real show stoppers were Geri and Zach’s stunning centerpieces. Apothecary jars were filled with mossy flowers and white anemones, a perfect blend of rustic and chic. A close second was Geri’s breathtaking Kenneth Poole gown. The couple says it’s important to note, that without a photographer you can trust, all the details you worked so hard on will soon be forgotten.
Geri gave some last words of wisdom to share with future destination wedding couples: “It will be a perfect day if you let it be. Things will go wrong, but just overlook it. If you get upset and stress over controlling the entire day, you will only ruin it for yourself.”
