According to wedding experts, the rustic style and DIY trend is here to stay for 2013. Ribbon is a beautiful and easy way to add personality and personalized detail to your destination wedding. Best of all, Midori Ribbon comes in countless combinations – whether you’re going for classic elegance or rustic chic. We spoke to the experts over at Midori Ribbon for tips and tricks on how best to incorporate ribbon into every aspect of your romantic day to say “I do.”

Gifts & Favors

For gifts that you give to your bridal party, match the colors of the ribbons with those decorating your wedding venue, if desired. You can also wrap small gifts in DIY Favor Flowers

To make these efforts even easier, Midori will be launching a custom printing feature on their website this month. Consumers will now have the ability to customize three of Midori’s ribbon lines (Double Faced Satin, Herringbone, and Rayon Trimming) with their favorite symbols and sayings, as well as their own personal text in their choice of nine different fonts. This interactive design option is the first of its kind!

Table & Venue Accents

Lengths of ribbon in complementary colors on your tables can add a festive touch to any reception. Additionally, we love the idea of using a ribbon backdrop at your ceremony or reception. Try it instead of traditional floral decor at the altar, or as a bright, fun accent to your dessert table!

Flowerless Bouquets and Appliqués

These beautiful flowers are actually not flowers at all – they are all made from Midori Ribbon. Whether the bride-to-be wishes to wear flowers in her hair or on her gown, or to make a full bouquet to walk down the aisle with, these ribbon flowers make a great substitute for real flowers and are a lasting keepsake.

Place Card Frames & Labels

Transform something as simple as a place card frame with organza ribbon which echoes your wedding colors and/or complements your wedding centerpiece. A great option is to DIY a frame with some Midori paper which complements your wedding colors and use those as place cards. They double as a gift!

Cake Décor

A popular décor option when it comes to cakes has become to wrap ribbons around the base of the cake. Even adding a bow to each tier or as a cake topper, ribbons are able to help transform even the simplest cakes into unique, memorable desserts.
