It’s day four of our Destination: Australia week and it’s perhaps our favorite part of our Destination: X weeks – all things inspiration! We’re visual people around here at DID, so it’s no surprise that we enjoy beautiful photos to get the creative juices flowing. Below, you’ll get the inside scoop on our latest Pinterest board dedicated to all things Australia wedding related! Also, one of our favorite bridal designers and Australian go-to brand, Grace Loves Lace, is sharing their recommendations on what brides should look for in a dress for an Australian destination wedding. We hope this Australia wedding inspiration serves to seal the deal on this gorgeous locale!
5 Things Australian Destination Brides Should Look for in a Dress
Industry standout and Australian staple, Grace Loves Lace, was kind enough to share their insight on what brides should look for in a gown for a wedding hosted in Australia.
1. Breathability
Comfortable stretch fabrics to withstand the Australian weather, particularly if you’re marrying in the tropics where it’s incredibly humid. The most popular wedding season is Spring, which falls in September.
2. Earthiness
Australia is all about the landscape. We love an outdoor wedding, especially on the beach! Gowns that mold to you and let you move have an authentic earthiness to them – think lightweight fabrics, interesting embroideries, textured and layered laces to complement the backdrop.
3. Travel-Friendly
You’ll want a fuss-free gown that’s light and easy to travel with. That means stretch laces and fabrics that can be easily rolled up, so they don’t take up too much room in a regular suitcase.
4. Effortless Silhouette
An effortless silhouette will match the laidback lifestyle in Australia. That means a dress you can MOVE in! We’re very carefree and lean towards the uncomplicated. This is particularly important on your wedding day, so you feel like your most comfortable and confident self. Kick off your heels, let down your hair and dance the night away!
5. Affordabliity and Versatility
The final point is a tie between affordability and versatility! Opt for a gown that is affordable, yet still luxurious, so you can focus on enjoying your wedding and vacation. Our gowns are handmade to order using artisanal methods in high quality European fabrics. On top of that, select a simple, effortless design that can take you through all of your wedding celebrations and occasions, no matter where you are.
