Awards season, much like fashion week, is a time for all those in the fashion industry and us watching at home to get a taste of all that is popular and chic.
From the Emmy’s to the Golden Globes, and finally culminating with the ultimate awards show, the Academy Awards, stylists, designers and brides alike take note of the latest fashion trends.
Every month, Nordstrom Bridal Director, Andrea Wasserman, makes her picks of the best bridal products the Nordstrom Wedding Suite has to offer. For March 2013, Wasserman drew her inspiration from Hollywood’s most glamorous night.
“This year, the red carpet was awash with clean lines, black and silver combinations and attention to gown structure, in a style [we] are referring to as ‘Architectural L’Amour,’” said Nordstrom fashion experts. The buzz words for this awards season? “Striking, bold and dramatic.”
For brides on the hunt for wedding gowns, Wasserman selected ‘Cassidy’ from designer Caroline Devillo ($2,4000). ‘Cassidy’ is all about creating the perfect silhouette. Romantic and chic, ‘Cassidy’ could be a great fit for a wine-country bride.
Another pick was the ‘Waverly,’ ($5,170) created by Anne Barge. ‘Waverly,’ with its flattering, form-fitting style and slimming lines is reminiscent of the Zero Dark Thirty star, and Oscar nominee, Jessica Chastain’s champagne-colored Armani Prive gown she wore to the Academy Awards.
If you’re looking for a more ethereal look, Wasserman selected the dramatic Vera Wang gown, ‘Erin’ ($3,990). A look which can be perfectly completed with the ‘Devyn’ ($129.95) sandal by Glint.
As for bridesmaid’s dresses, Wasserman selected a sleek black and white two-tone sheath dress by Monique Lhullier ($198) and an elegant floor length asymmetrical taffeta gown in a striking garnet hue ($290) by Amsale.
No ensemble would be complete without drop-dead gorgeous accessories. If you’re looking to emulate Hollywood’s biggest stars, Wasserman selected a few earrings perfect for W-Day. ‘Brooklyn’ ($75) and ‘Holly Drop’ ($55) earrings by Nina.
To ensure your flower girl looks just as good coming down the aisle as the pint-sized Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis did walking the red carpet in her navy blue Armani gown, Wasserman suggests an ivory organza dress from US Angels ($104-$106).
With these spot-on selections from Nordstrom Wedding Suite, you and your wedding party will look positively red-carpet ready for your big wedding day.
