Once you’ve caught the one to marry, it’s time to find the dress! With thousands of options and more bridal designers popping up every day, it can be difficult to know where to start.  Here at Destination I Do, Kirstie Kelly recently caught our eye not only for her beautiful designs, but for a unique service she calls her “Borrow Me” program. Being based out of L.A., Kirstie wants every bride to have the opportunity to try on one of her gowns – even if there isn’t a boutique nearby which carries them.

Essentially, a bride can contact the designer and let Kirstie know which gowns she’s interested in. Then, Kirstie will have the gowns shipped directly to the bride’s home to keep the dresses for a few days in order to try them on in the comfort of her own home. Invite over your mom and friends – it’s time for a bride fashion show! Needless to say, this service is one-of-a-kind and really shows how Kirstie caters to her brides. After all, there’s nothing more frustrating that seeing the dress online and not having a boutique nearby which carries it.

Kirstie Kelly is known for dresses which emphasize quiet details and which are understatedly classic, but designed with deliberate femininity. Kirstie can relate to destination wedding brides since she grew up flitting between different European countries and the U.S. Having exposure to the World’s fashion capitals gave Kirstie a heightened appreciation for a great atelier which embraces old-world craftsmanship while keeping up with a more modern aesthetic.

Her latest collection is the 2013 Garden Collection. Inspired by her fondest childhood memories of running through fields of blooming flowers and gardens, the collection is meant to reflect an effortless lifestyle and suit lush landscapes. Perfect for destination wedding brides! The Garden Collection features silk tulle, textural soutache lace, tiny chiffon flowers which cascade on lace bodices, unfinished edges and crinkled chiffons. As is her signature, there is also a large focus on the inside corset and construction of each gown. It’s important that you not only look your best come W-day, but feel your most comfortable!

The images above are all pieces from Kirstie Kelly’s 2013 Garden Collection. You can also see Kirstie’s work in our Spring/Summer 2013 issue which is on newsstands now!  Her gowns were featured as a part of our Fashion Forward section in “Southern California Couture.”
