The HydraFacial is the newest non-laser skin-resurfacing system to hit the market. The treatment can be customized to treat all skin types and improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, congested and enlarged pores, oily skin, hyperpigmentation and brown spots.

How the procedure works is HydraFacial is a medical-grade treatment and hydra dermabrasion procedure that cleanses, detoxifies, exfoliates, extracts and hydrates all at once. It utilizes Vortex-Fusion® technology and is both a physical and chemical exfoliation process that extracts embedded oils and debris. There are four steps to the HydraFacial and optional add-on treatments like LED light therapy and lymphatic drainage. The four steps of the facial are:

Step 1: Cleansing and Exfoliation

Featuring Activ- 4™, which is a combination of Lactic Acid and Glucosamine, this step softens and conditions skin, creating a clean canvas and leaving skin feeling refreshed.

Step 2: Acid Peel

This advancement in skin-resurfacing technology combines the benefits of aggressive exfoliation and chemical peels into a one-step resurfacing treatment. With the potent GlySal™ solution used in conjunction with HydraFacial®Vortex-Fusion® technology, the cell-sloughing capabilities are unsurpassed for deep cleansing and exfoliation of the skin.

Step 3: Vortex-Extraction™

This multi-action step utilizes Beta-HD™ to soften sebum and impurities which aid in the automated, painless extraction process that uses gentle suction instead of squeezing.

The uniquely formulated proprietary combination of advanced peptides found in DermaBuilder™ is designed to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, enhance skin elasticity, and help even skin tone and texture.

Step 4: Vortex-Fusion®

Designed to help detoxify and protect skin from environmental free radicals, the final step features an application of “super-serum” Antiox-6™ to replenish the skin’s natural elasticity and hydration. This powerful formula combines deeply moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid with detoxifying antioxidants such as Vitamins A, E, White Tea Extract, Horse Chestnut Extract, and Rosemary Extract.

I personally tried the HydraFacial at a local health spa, Skin Frenzy, here in Phoenix and was very impressed with the immediate results. The facial is very gentle and exfoliates dry, dead skin while hydrating at the same time. My technician recommended trying out the HydraFacial a month before your wedding. Then, if you have no adverse reactions, get another facial right before leaving for your destination wedding.

This particular facial is unique in that it requires its own set of equipment and the specially designed attachments pump high-quality serums straight onto your skin. The difference in using serums over creams is that they pack the most punch because they’re more easily absorbed.

After I got the facial, my skin was more even-toned, supple and refreshed. The good thing is, you see immediate results, but there is no downtime like most facials that include exfoliation. Aside from staying out of the sun for 24 hours, this facial is perfect before a big trip. If you’ve never had a facial before, this is a great introductory option as it’s gentle on your skin, but you’ll still see immediate results.
