Traditional wedding registries are very nearly a thing of the past – especially for destination wedding couples. Couples are waiting longer to get married and very often live together before they said “I do,” thus rendering the traditional wedding gifts (i.e. dishes, pots & pans) unnecessary. Thankfully, online registries are becoming more and more popular and couples are opting to register for honeymoon experiences in addition to more traditional gifts. There are several services which couples can use, but one in particular just launched a free mobile app which allows you to add items and thank guests wherever you are!
Wanderable started as an online registry site, but recently added their free iPhone app which allows couples to upload items, photos and “thank you’s” anywhere in the World. You can design your own honeymoon registry for free and then your guests are able to gift funds to help with your dream trip. Best of all, you can upload your own photos straight from your phone of items to add to your registry or photos of yourselves to add into “thank you” cards.
For example, say you register for a snorkeling trip for your Hawaiian honeymoon. Request your guests to contribute with a cute photo of you and your soon-to-be-spouse in snorkeling masks. Then, once you’re enjoying newlywed bliss in paradise, upload a photo of yourselves actually snorkeling, add it to a digital “thank you” card and send it off to the guest(s) you wish to thank – all from your mobile phone.
Wanderable’s registries are free to create and have one of the lowest transaction fees on the market. The electronic “thank you” cards are free to send and custom postcards can be addressed, stamped and shipped for you by Wanderable for $1.99 domestic and $2.99 internationally.
