After we began working on real-life bride Jamie’s wedding feature, we were pleased to discover she had an equally-as-enchanting hometown bridal shower influenced by her destination wedding. The bride has been a part of the wedding and event industry for over ten years, so we at Destination I Do reached out to discover how she pulled off not one, but two fantastic wedding events.

DID: Why did you choose to have a bridal shower and how did hosting a destination wedding influence your decision?

BRIDE: Many of my family and friends were unable to attend our destination wedding, so it was important for me to have a shower to be able to celebrate with the 16 most important women in my life.

DID: How and why did you choose the event location?

BRIDE: Since [my now-husband and I] launched Estate Weddings and Events back in 2007, I always assumed we would get married at an estate and since we chose to get married in Mexico, I thought having my shower at one of my favorite estates would be perfect. It was also a way for me to share my work with the ladies that I love most in my life.

DID: How would you describe your bridal shower and how was the styling influenced by your destination wedding?

BRIDE: Since we were having a modern, Mexican-themed reception in Mexico’s wine country, we wanted to do something completely different for the shower, but still speaking to my style. The Sanctuary Estate was the perfect setting to host a bold, boho-inspired Balinese bridal shower. Tam of Isari Flower Studio created bright and bold centerpieces and combined them with boho-style lounges in a clean, modern home.

DID: What was your favorite aspect of your bridal shower?

BRIDE: My favorite aspect of the day was of course spending it with all my friends and family. I was fortunate to have a very talented group of friends or “friendors” to create such a spectacular day for me.

DID: Do you have any special advice you would like to share with our readers to help them plan multiple wedding events?

BRIDE: Do not stress over the little things and take time to enjoy every minute of it. Let the experts do what they do best, so you do not have to worry about the details. If you can hire a planner, it’s well worth it. You only get married once and you should be able to enjoy it!
